Why is having social media so important when it comes to the business world? This topic is controversial, since social media is a “newer” type of platform, and hasn’t been popular for more than 10-20 years. Although newer than marketing platforms such as TV and Radio, social media takes the lead in a lot of categories - especially when it comes to a specific target audience.

Ad Lab President Jeff Heiniger talks about how video can be the great first impression (literally) your business has on potential customers.

By now, you’re probably sick of phrases like “these unprecedented times” or “the new normal.” After all, we’ve been hearing them in news reports, advertisements, and popular culture for almost a year straight. And yet, let’s be honest: those catchphrases are not only completely accurate descriptions of, well…these unprecedented times, they also have the benefit of sounding less scary, less stressful, than a perhaps more scientific description of the current state of the world.

Imagine the power of having a salesperson on staff that is your top performer and that top performer works 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. And they work for free. That may sound unrealistic, but that salesperson exists for every company. You may have figured out by now that I’m talking about your website! There is no better salesperson for a company than your website. You advertise to drive traffic to your website, and if your website tells your story and demonstrates your product appropriately, that website visit will lead to a phone call. And that phone call will lead to a sale!

Last year, at Christmas, I had the number 2 for the white elephant, gift exchange. I decided to choose the biggest gift. The gift inside was not what a white elephant enthusiast would refer to as “steal worthy” and I sat there with that gift the entire game, as I watched 12 other gifts opened and stolen time and time again. But, bigger is better, right? It’s quantity not quality, right?

In October 2019, Ad Lab was spotlighted as the cover story in Business People magazine.  After interviewing our team, Business People dubbed Ad Lab the “everything agency” for the headline.   I’ve had several people reach out to me, after reading the article to ask me exactly what being the everything agency means?   Simply put, it means you only need to have 1 contact (and 1 invoice!) for all marketing needs for your business.   Need a TV, radio or digital, schedule placed? Social media?   We can do that.   Need the commercial produced and the ads created?  We can do that.

Hello my name is Rick Porfilio, Ad Lab’s Art Director. I’m new to this blog thing. I’ve been in the graphic design business for 33 years, but never been asked to write. That’s the job of a copywriter. However, I do understand more “visual” mediums, so I’ll try and use my words to convey my thoughts on logo design.

These are certainly strange days. Stressful days. Local advertisers and business owners are desperately trying to cope with a potential loss of revenue, or lack of product to sell, in addition to the very real concerns regarding the safety of their families and the community at large. There are so many unknown variables regarding the duration of this crisis that many advertisers decide to retreat a bit. They cancel ongoing campaigns and vacate existing spot schedules. And you know what? Sometimes that’s the absolute right thing to do.
